It is not just refusing to accept, or taking a contrary view to climate change that constitutes denial. Acknowledgement of the science but refusal to change behavior amounts to the very same thing. It is therefore a sign of denial that our Government continues to subsidize fossil fuel industries and sanctions the construction of new coal fired power stations. It is irrelevant what is stated publicly. It is actions that are meaningful and those actions have been quite clear.
CCS ( Carbon Capture and Storage ) is not merely a distraction, it is being used as an excuse to allow further coal development. New coal fired power stations are allowed by the EPA, on the condition that they fit CCS technology if and when it is available and financially viable.
We are a bit too big for imaginary solutions from our governments, we need real bold mature leadership.
